RE-WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL OPENS ON FRIDAY JULY 28TH WITH PORFIRIO RUBIROSA’S TRIBUTE TO ARLO GUTHRIE

Porfirio Rubirosa will open on July the 28th the Re-Woodstock three days festival.

To define, Porfirio Rubirosa, eclectic performer seems quite reductive, no wonder if Joe Levy, vice-director of USA Rolling Stones used to define him “like some combination of Austin Powers and Chubby Checker”.

The debut album “Fresco e Spumeggiante” is dated 2005, followed in the 2008 by “Ferragosto ‘68”, concept album breath by collaboration between Porfirio Rubirosa and the Franco Zanetti director of rockol.com, includes duets with Ivan Cattaneo, Montefiori Cocktail, Giuliano dei Notturni, Dik Dik, Giganti, Corvi, Righeira, among the others.
In February 2012 his third album “Un esteta al mare” and in 2016 a new project: “Porfirio Rubirosa fa Skiffle!”, song and theatre piece written by Porfirio Rubirosa and performed with acoustic instruments made by everyday objects.

From this last project the idea of the Arlo Guthrie’s tribute.

Arlo Guthrie, Son of the legendary Folk Singer Woody Guthrie, was considerated some kind of hero for the Hippie community thank to his Song “Alice’s Restaurant” a piece of music long more than 18 minutes which was a real manifesto of the fighting against Vietnam War and the hymn to the American counterculture, source of inspiration for the same name movie.

He sang at woodstock the Friday evening, appearently under the influence of a big amount of drugs, only three songs, but since the first piece “Coming into Los Angeles”, he won the heart of the whole Hippie community.
